Research statement

Veronica Rammouz is a Ph.D. student in Information Technology with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research focuses on understanding how AI models represent and use information internally, with an emphasis on fairness and security-related applications, specifically AI for security and security for AI. She works primarily through empirical methods, including natural language processing, to study model behavior and improve reliability. Her research spans fair failure modeling, IoT wireless security analytics, malware attribution, and access control in AI systems, supported by federal and industry funded grants (e.g., NSF and Cisco). Her long-term goal is to develop trustworthy AI systems that are reliable, secure, and controllable across diverse real-world settings.
